Ease of oil change!

Finally had to change the oil after the 2 year GM plan. Sonic has 22k.

I have been dreading this due to clearance issues and never dealing with a cartridge filter....

Was I wrong!

Oil pan bolt easy to get to, and the oil filter cap unscrewed with a socket set.

4.5 quarts of Valvoline Full synthetic, STP filter...done deal!

Boom...easy peasy! Now go 6 months and change again.

"ease" jk it takes about 10 minutes. Unless you forget where you're supposed to jack the car from in which case it takes considerably longer :b. Dont wait 6 months to change it though. Though I dont doubt that if you drive carefully you could go 6 months, I know my first turbo "failed" because I was following the GM recommended oil change intervals. I had the service rep tell me I should really be changing it every 3-5k miles.

No saying the car has a turbocharger. Mine doesn't, and I change the oil once a year when it reminds me to.

I go 6 months with synthetic oil...no issues. But I do certain things on cold startups to ensure she lasts...
