Eastern Virginia new Sonic LT sedan owner

Hi everyone. I'm Cliff from eastern Virginia, US.

This past Saturday, I bought a new silver Sonic LT sedan with manual transmission. Knowing it's a 2nd gen Daewoo Kalos (T300), it what swayed my purchase decision.

I have a 2002 Daewoo Lanos hatchback with almost 200,000 miles and it's still running wonderfully. It's been such a good car, I decided to get it's most recent incarnation, the Sonic.

The first thing I noticed is how poor the sound system is. The speakers sound like they have mud in them. LOL. I guess I spoiled myself with an Eclipse head unit, Aura amp and CDT front stage speakers in the Lanos.

Last week we bought my wife a new Chevy Captiva Sport SUV, which is a Daewoo Winstorm Maxx.

I've been a member on the Daewootech forums since 2003 and I'm still active on there.

I really hope this forum community is as helpful, friendly and dedicated as I am used to with those guys! :)

Looking forward to talking about our cars on here with everyone.

Welcome to the forum. There's lots of audio options you can check out in various threads that will allow you to get better sound. We'd all like to see photos posted please!

423, I work across the ferry from you in Surry and we're in the process of moving from an apartment in Hopewell to one in Smithfield since my wife recently got a job as a teacher in Hampton. It's a good half-way location between our jobs.

I grew up in Surry and have been to Williamsburg all my life, know the area well. In the past, I've dated a couple girls there (not at the same time lol).

I got the Sonic back from the dealer yesterday for it's first detailing and the paint & interior protection.

I've already located the Korean Daewoo badges and Kalos name lettering. I've also found the Holden Barina front bumper cover which deletes the Chevy bow tie and allows the front grill mounted Daewoo emblem.

I know these cars are badged Chevy here in the US, but it is, after all, a Kalos T300. I got the KDM badges for my Lanos, and Leganza and it looks quite nice.

Last night on my drive from Smithfield to Chester (almost 2 hours) I saw as high as 40.1mpg and it is sitting averaged as of today around 37.8, which is great for a new engine that has not yet been broken in.

I will get photos soon, but as I said we are in the process of moving, so between work, packing & moving, trying to sleep, make sure the cats have food and breathing, time is rather limited at the moment.

Welcome.

I live in Powhatan and work in Chester. I travel through Hampton and VA Beach areas quite often as well.

Whoa - from the first pic you do look great and powerful - and really tall (or else the sun was near the horizon). Nice effect with your shadow:)
