2015 sonic LS base of base, only option was automatic.. 27000 km's (parents)

headlight switch works when it wants, but auto lights work fine..
passenger headlight seems to turn on and off randomly, as in when its out turn key off it turns on start car it shuts off as an example... but DRL no problems.. dealer replaced bulbs switch etc.. and still does it..

stereo cuts out turns on randomly, aswell as dash lights shut right off randomly.. base stereo no xm just onstar/bluetooth, Bluetooth is also acting up and dials 3-4 times on every dialout... get annoying when parents call me and second line is the damn car calling again, if i dont answer it i loose the call...

anything i should look at before it goes in on monday .. or just let dealer deal with it? if they even bother to even attempt.. like the last time and just replace the same parts again..


funny part is all this started after parents iphone died and got an android phone.. and paired it.. LOL coincidence i hope... haha

I would check and clean the negative connections to the battery . . . even if it looks clean. Also. . . check any ground leads. Some are difficult to locate, but if one did not get properly tightened form the factory, eventually corrosion will result in weird issues like you have.

Tha's my bet. .. . or a battery cell is going out. Take it in to an Autozone or similar for a battery load test. Not always shows anything up, but if the car is 3 to 4 years old.. . . a cell could be going out and cause low voltage issues. I've seem cars go down to 9 or 10 volts intermittently for bad ground or battery issues.

checked all grounds, removed and cleaned up terminals, did a load test on battery, everything checked out, a few ground straps are a pain to find but it is what it is, even ran a temp cable for a ground from bat to motor to body.. never know.. no change, just got it back yesterday 5 days at the dealer, and talking to my Grandma, original purchaser of the car who gave to my parents 2 years later.. This was a problem not long after they purchased it...

Problem.. BCM was bad , now when my mom calls me it don't dial me 3 times with the bluetooth.. haha

cause: and yes they went this far.. was the electronic rust control was failing apparently, due to original dealer not installing it properly.. since it had bad contact.. it would send a charge then nothing.. send a charge nothing .. since it makes a small electrical charge on the body .. basically power surged.. lucky pcm didn't get taken out.

anyway only reason it took so long is they had to get authorization from original dealer as it was on them for the repairs.. (parents had a loaner anyway) which they sent someone up to verify then had no problems took care of everything so props to them.

Thanks for the update. Weird that the orginal dealer couldn't diagnose a bad BCM. I guess the diagnostics tools they use aren't as good as their cracked up to be. Or .. . . the people using them.

So much electronics and modules in even a low cost vehicle these days seems to make some problems difficult to find.

dealer tried to reflash incase something was corrupted.. and when it failed, they replaced then went on the hunt why... previous dealer never tried a reflash and without wouldn't have known an issue was there... this dealer here is really good with me, but i give him deals on hotel rooms when he needs them(nextdoor to my work)

second time it went to this dealer for it.. so they actually dug into it this time..
