Engine Light on running cool

Good Evening,
I have a 2014 chevy sonic with 1.8 and O'reily's auto parts check with scanner and they said it is calling running cool. Maybe needs coolant sensor or needs thermostat. They said it maybe stuck open. Anyone experienced the same problem it would be greatly appreciated if you would share some suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help with this issue

This car has an electronic thermostat, so the code might need more specific diagnostics. Are you out of warranty already? Did they give you the actual code number?
