I'm debating between ZZP's catback with muffler and DDM's catback with resonator. Funds are tight as always. The problem is I really like the DDM system's sound. Its perfect. I don't like the price. The ZZP system is the right price but I'm afraid it will be too quiet as the turbo seems to soak up alot of the note. The ZZP system with no muffler is not an option due to inspection requirements. Any suggestions? Might it be possible to buy the ZZP without muffler and add a resonator of my choice? I don't know. Are there any other options?

I'm pretty sure you can get the ZZP with no muffler and then add the resonator. That's the solution I think I've come to for my own.

I agree with insanika. Get the straight pipe system and add a 14" resonator. You can even go with Solo Performance's resonator but once again, it's not cheap. I'd go with Magnaflow personally.

The larger pipe you do the lower it will make the tone, making it quieter. I have ran 2.5" straight pipe and now 3" straight, it sounded much much deeper and not as loud.

I just installed the ZZP two nights ago, muffler delete and 2nd cat delete, and added a 14" Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator. Vibrant Performance ::.

It sounds pretty damn good, but I'm concerned that it's too loud. It has a really deep rumble, pops and crackles under deceleration, and other nifty features.

I park with the tailpipe facing my front door, and on a cold start, it's annoyingly loud in my apartment, my metal signs on my wall vibrate until it idles down. Similar things happen inside the car between 1500-2500 rpm. Installing the last 3 pipes in the catback seemed to make it louder, I'm thinking the oversized tip is causing an issue.

I plan to change it up some Sunday, either an additional resonator, or a small muffler, and also will try just straight-piping the tip. The sound is perfect, I just want about half of the volume level.

Save yourself some money and have a shop that can bend new pipe to your desired specs. Cut out the kit and the middle man. That's what I did for my Magnaflow setup and saved about half of what the kit cost and that was with installation.
