Expected power gains?

Hey all,

Recently got ahold of a full turboback exhaust from ZZP and can expect to have it by this time next week!

Quick question, with the MPfab CAI, turboback exhaust, and the trifecta tune... what are most members seeing in terms of gain and performance? This would be for a 2015 sonic LTZ with automatic transmission, for the record

Hey there,
I’ve got a few mods similar to yours on my car. I modded the stock air box by drilling holes in the bottom of it and building some hard piping for way better flow, BNR downpipe, the muffler is chopped off, Trifecta tuned, along with other stuff that doesn’t mess with the power. Intake made a small difference, faster spool and fun turbo noises unlocked. Downpipe added power for sure, along with better spool and exhaust sound. Muff delete didn’t add anything powerwise really from my butt dyno. The trifecta tune REALLY woke the car up. I’d recommend picking up the Elite tune and skipping Advantage entirely. It was $175 to upgrade even though the initial price is only $100 different. I’d recommend getting an Ultragauge as soon as you can as your next mod to monitor engine temp and other stuff (thanks GM).

I can't speak to Trifecta tune but here are some results with a BNR tune and similar mods you are asking about. I'm assuming they would be similar results.

With stock wastegate and bnr tune, full exhaust and intake you'll shave off a bit over 1.5 seconds 0-60 and about .6 seconds faster for 1/8th mile from stock. With an aftermarket wastegate when tuned with exhaust and intake expected another 1 second faster 0-60 and around another .6 faster in the 1/8th mile.

I tested all these mods below if it helps. Just keep in mind these cars are slow especially with an auto trans. Yes performance is a very noticeable increase but not mind blowing. It just makes car more enjoyable to drive.

Absolutely. Spent almost 2 days trying to get the thing off, it was seized. Finally got it all off and got the install done, thing is purring now! Just need to tune it tonight, then gonna take it out for a spin and see what she can do

Oh, I'm Chicago land as well. I'm in Aurora. I use gasbuddy app and pretty easy to find 93 at shell or BP but cheaper 93 is a bit harder to find. Thortons is always cheaper than shell or BP but only offer 92 and speedway is usually a good deal with 93. Now if you live by a Costco they always have the best deal for 93 by .25 a gallon.

Schaumburg for me, I'll check around. I have a Thornton's like 5 mins from me. I'm right by Woodfield though, I've gotta imagine there's a fair amount of 93 options
