Anyone see fa little yellowish foam/slime in the filler cap? The oil that I changed looked fine, but there was s bit of foam in the cap.
Coolant level has been steady.

Ok kiddies --- water & oil don't mix --- If when changing the oil and theres white foam in the oil -- "water" --- if the oil filter has a white-ish froth in it -- "water" --
If theres white foam in the oil cap --- 99% of the time its just dampness in the surrounding outside air -- oil caps are designed to vent a bit ---- if you live in a damp environment - near the ocean you'll see that most of the time --

It looked like a normal used filter. It was a STP max life filter, supposedly good for 15k miles, but changed at ~12k kilometres.
I'm having exact same issue as of yesterday. Minor buildup just on edge of cap bottom. Recall, I just got my Sonic in October, and it is now winter temps down to the 20's here in MD. So, I'm not worried. I will look into the PCV Tubing to be sure it is clear. Oil is clean and was just changed a week or two earlier.
On my daughters Jetta, I just replaced an assembly on top of her IM, it is where the Oil Cap goes in and has an integrated PCV Valve. Not obvious that it is has a PCV built in, the value of forums pays off!
It has had a little gunk over past 2 years, but recently was quite heavy. Indicating the Valve was clogged and failed. I replaced the assembly ($30) and a hose going to it ($15). Old unit was about 90% clogged like about to have a heart attack.

As I drove the Sonic to work for awhile, a distance of 25 miles, the moisture buildup went away. I am now driving my daughters Jetta (She got a Versa) and driving to work, it too no longer has a buildup like she had until the day she gave it to me. So, the Cap is really the issue quite often, and very short drives of 3 miles max, vs more common distances.
