Hmm well my best guess would be to try going thru the different settings accesed thru the DIC
-either set key to RUN or engine ON and in park/e-brake on (can't recall if it's 1, the other, or both).
-Hit "Menu" button to cycle to vehicle menu or whichever one isn't the trip/odo or mpg/time/fuel range.
-Scroll thru and see what ya can do.

I think that's just like metric mode bro, the car u saw was probably from like Europe or something, idk if u can only change the gas gauage, it might change your speed n **** too.. and temp to C.. not sure tho

I want it to read 12.2 at the top and 2.1 at the bottom... because that's what the gauge really indicates.
Even better would be if it would go from 12.2 to 0.2, so I'd know how much gas I really had. 0.2 would be that little bit of wiggle room, but I could start to really look for a station when the yellow warning light goes on at two bubbles... right now two bubbles is over four gallons and panic is far from my mind. But I don't suppose we've figured out how to hack that yet.

Telling you that you have "1" tank of gas, or "0" tanks of gas is not exactly profound.
I agree with Sword, "12" for full and "2" for low would be much more informative.
I'll stick to F and E.opcorn:
I've never understood it either. In electronics 1 means ON and 0 means OFF but how does that relate to a container being full or empty.

It's consistent with the inexplicable logic behind the DRL indicator lights.
If I dwell on the "WTF was somebody thinking?" idea for too long, I change my brain channel. I like the styling of the gauges, but the technology of the screen is 10 years behind. And they didn't engineer any headroom in the interface for updates..... Bafoonery I say!

Have you had a look at other GM vehicles like a traverse or a Equinox?
So far, our 2012 Cruze seems to have the most up to date firmware as far as instantaneous \average MPG, multiple trip meters, digital speedo and so on. My sisters, I think 2012 Traverse doesn't have a digital speedometer and my moms 2013 Equinox doesn't have instantaneous fuel mileage I don't think. Also, the headlight controls are on the turn signal stalk. Its all 6+ yr old stuff because that's when the Equinox was introduced. They haven't updated crap including the firmware from what I can tell.
It seems like they design the firmware when the vehicle is introduced and then that's it, other crap gets minor updates but that's all. So a $19K Cruze has better firmware than a $30K-40K SUV.

Well, our cars here in Canada are Metric, but they still say F and E.
When I was overseas, the little VW Polo TDI I rented said 1 and 0 at each end of the gas gauge.
Personally, I don't see how one is more useful than the other and wouldn't mess with the settings to try and change it.
