I wanted to clear up potential confusion regarding the official GM bumper protectors for the sonic.
I ordered the "applique" thinking it was a pad like this, but I was wrong. It's a clear 3M decal that wraps around the majority of the bumper! So, I ordered the other one, described as a "pad." That part has the exact same description, but it's a completely different part! It does go on the top lip of the fascia like I wanted, but it is made of metal and is shined to a mirror finish... so scratches on that will be more obvious than the bare bumper! In addition, it requires drilling into the fascia to attach it! *face palm*
I thought I was doing myself a favor by getting the official parts at a discount from shopchevyparts.com... but I've had to pay for shipping coming and going TWICE, so I'm out as much money as if I'd just ordered the part from zetaproducts (via amazon).
