I’m William. I have a 2022 GR86 and a 2008 Saturn Sky that I drive. I do about 20k miles a year for work, and am looking at getting a Sonic to daily/ autocross. I put premium in the Toyota, and get 26-27mpg, so I’ve been getting hosed with gas expenses ($4.63/ gal). Not to mention the set of 4 P4S tires I go through every year. The GR86 is an expensive daily.
I only owe about $18k on it, and can sell it for $29-30k. Cashing out on equity would enable me to buy a Sonic cash.
With the Saturn Sky, I’ve rebuilt the engine, and know and love ZZP for parts and tuning. That makes me super comfortable/ confident with modifying and maintaining a Sonic.
Feel free to tell me how stupid I sound. I think it’s a fairly sound financial decision. Not to mention going to FWD with these winters here in Colorado, being able to do a roof rack, having more room for rear seats, and whatnot when I go on adventures.
