This is the last year one is able to get a new Sonic in Europe since GM is pulling Chevrolet brand out of here.
I personally was waiting for the Sonic RS (here: Aveo RS) to be available in 2014. Half a year waiting and then they announced that it is actually not coming here. Couple of them arrived in Germany as Demo models, but that's it.
So I went and bought a second hand 2012 model, with a tiny 1.4L 100hp non turbo engine. Since I use it as a everyday going to work and shopping cart, dont mind the lack of power that much.
GM whines that Chevrolet isn't really popular here. Well its because they do market this brand as cheapo vehicle. Usually lacking most extras and comfort features.
For my Aveo (well, from hereon lets call it Sonic for simplicity) I need to change the speakers and cabling, add amp while retaining the original stereo. Unfortunately mine doesn't have rear speakers, and nobody seems to know if there is a way to "teach" fader control to the HU.
Some say that it may automatically have fader control if it recognizes speakers attached, however nothing confirmed. And also, I will not put speakers there, but just amps HL input. Maybe have to test it with just some dummy load.
Cheers from Estonia
