Grill covered under warranty?

I have a hole (I'm assuming a rock hit grill driving behind truck on highway) in my upper grill and was wondering if the grill is covered under warranty or not? I would expect, despite being plastic, these grills are supposed to hold up to these types of wear and tear....anyone know of hand? Thank you

Damage to body panels from impact are not usually covered by warranty. You can try, if you have a good relationship with the service department, get most if not all of your work done there, then maybe. Since GM requires (at least they did when I was a tech there 15yrs ago) the dealers to store all warrantied parts for 6 months. GM can come down to the dealer, inspect the part, and reject the claim if they decide it wasn't a defective part. Then the dealer would have to pay for that part and eat the labor. Too many rejected claims puts that dealer on their radar and they get more frequent inspections.

Unless you can prove there was a manufacturing defect that led to the failure, no it should not be covered by warranty.
