hey everyone im new to the forums and thought i would share my build, i have a 2012 Chevy Sonic LT 1.8l Charcoal Grey Hatchback bought brand new in September of 2012, i have some before and after pictures of my build. I currently do not have any performance mods or under the hood mods or exhaust so any and all recommendations are welcome.

Dome light rear blue led
Led glow interior light kit underneath seats and foot pedals

unique my friend. I was about to point out your tags are expired (from the before pics)...where in MO are you?

Looks good.

I'd do lowering springs (if you're halfway good with tools, this is a DIY thing) and some spacers for the wheels.
Forgive the hijack pic, but I want to show you the lowering effect and 5mm spacers

Also, I wonder if you painted the rear bumper section some of us have been painting...what if that were white....maybe over the top...who knows.

thanks for the input i personally like how low it sits already i sometimes wind up bottoming out depending on where i park but i try at all costs to avoid that i live in a suburb of Kansas City lees summit

It's not that bad, I scrape my front under bumper part at times, but never the actual bumper.

Just a thought...

My grandparents (since passed) lived in Lee's Summit... been there many times.

Ya without traffic I can get downtown in about 30min from where I live. If you don't mind me asking how much it cost you to do that and what are the benefits or is just looks my cousin is a mechanic soo if it's diy then shouldn't be a problem thanks for your input ANYONE else feel free share

That's a sweet looking ride. I love the interior lights and stereo upgrade. I'm thinking of doing those and your pics kinda inspire me to pick up the pace

Thanks NewZJ the stock stereo just didn't have any oomph when it came to volume I loved it but it sucked when it came to music I have a whole infinity speaker setup and it's great just remember to set all the settings on your stereo first before taking it out like the lights and security settings and door ajar because my new stereo don't have those options I have had this car since 2012 and I have 4 more years of payments soo i might as well do whatever I can to make it badass

Good info. I bought the axxess thing but dunno exactly what it does. I also have the metra kit ready with a wiring harness. I keep telling myself not to skimp and buy the $1300 head unit but my wallet says to keep what I have now

Yeah I bought Control box for my stereo and it doesn't work with my answer call button but other steering wheel controls work that's what an axxess thing is supposed to do keep your factory steering wheel controls I have a pioneer avh-x4600bt it has bluetooth and has I pod hookups and stuff and even backup camera ready but it don't have navigation and j got it for 320$ on amazon no need to spend 1300 on a stereo man you better send me some pictures when your done

Lol boy did we kinda get off topic but I guess since nobody else wants to chime in on my build that radio can do HD Radio and satellite and built in navigation where as the 4600bt can only do navigation if you buy the separate piece and it don't have HD Radio or satellite but It can use a backup camera I have a phone and an actual TomTom GPS soo i didn't need built in GPS and most of my music is on my phone soo the nex8000 is a good unit my friend

I Bluetooth my music and use gps often from my phone but it would nice to have it built in. I probably won't use the hd radio and the more I talk about it I convince myself I don't need it

And you can buy my model for 320 and then later you can add navigation by buying a separate piece which in turn would still make my radio cheaper than the nex8000

it is man check this out Amazon.com : Pioneer AVIC-U260 Add-On GPS Navigation System AVICU260 : GPS & Navigation thats the add on for my radio to use navigation you buy that any time and add to the avxh-x4600bt even cheaper than the nex8000 if you combine the 2 pieces

Springs were about $230...spacers about $50. I also bought some camber bolts to correct the camber a little. All done in my garage..using hand tools . The spring compressor was fun!

Handles great...just a little more jouncy ride.... only scapes under bumper section
