Hi, I am a noob Sonic owner (2013 LTZ).
I have a Yaesu Ham radio I'd like to mount in the car. I was thinking of drilling the holes for the mounting bracket/screws into the passenger-side panel to the right of the gear shift. Will this damage anything underneath? Will the screws grip on to that plastic fine?
I also would like to run a dedicated power cable to the battery or use a fuse tap to an always-on 12V 20A fuse. How hard would it be for this? As you can see my existing wiring is a mess (spring terminal cigarette lighter adapter) plugged into a 3 way splitter velcroed to my passenger side, lol.
I'm a complete idiot when it comes to cars. I just want to have an elegant way to mount my gadgets!
