Heat Coming And Going :(

Hello all, I'm at the point where I both love and hate this car. My gf bought it before we got together and she happened to get a 2012 and everyone knows wait a few years to let them get the kinks out of new cars, but anyway at 75k the stealership replaced the transmission for us it went out and told us all plastic sway bar links were broken but they're plastic so that's what happens, so here lately the heat has been coming and going in the car and naturally I checked the coolant which was about half way full next thing I know temp light comes on and check engine so I stopped went in Autozone got some coolant waited a while and topped it off. With the holidays coming up we might have to sit them out unless we can get this issue fixed. I'm not wanting to blow a head gasket. Anyone experienced this issue yet?

Water pump may be bad. Known issue on these cars. That or the electrically controlled thermostat. Either way, its warranty stuff at the dealer. The warranty on the water pump is actually extended due to the issues.

Well after I filled coolant back up the car has been running room temperature air and sometimes a bit warmer but by no means as warm as per se my work vehicle.
