Heated Seat Issues

2012 1.4L Turbo Hatchback

Anybody having a problem with their heated seats?

i believe my driver side have out! i will press the button... n it kinda warms slightly then shuts off after two minutes. i will call dealership tomorrow. Just looking to see if anyone has experienced this as well and what could cause it...
wiring?
fuse?

i have not fully researched this yet either.

Just had mine at the dealer for the very symptom you described. Turned out there was a short in the heating element.

Mine was replaced under warranty.

I've had quite the success in the snow. I drove through a chain check point at Donner pass with out loss of traction on a completely stock sonic.

They STINK in my 2014 Sonic RS....I have have taken it to two different dealer and have been told they are in Spec...the next time I will do a better job of checking it out.
As a reference my New 2015 Equinox LTZ seats are warmer in the lowest of setting vs. the only setting in the my Sonic.

FYI, I know people that have take the Sonic off their list of possible purchases because of MY WEAK HEATED RS seats........

FYI While the Chevrolet Customer Cares that trolls is site seems caring they have been USESLESS in Resolving this issue of WEAK SONIC HEATED SEATS.....(I'm just saying)

no problem i have dealt with my dealer on several occasions already to contact them. sometimes it's better to resolve it yourself anyhow. i appreciate the heads up!

The seat covers are loose by design (notice how the bottom is one LARGE area with no cross listing like normal cars) and move around causing the copper wire in the heating element to break and short. Easy fix is to use spray adhesive to make heat pat more stationary. I put aftermarket ones in mine glued the crap out of them hot as hell too.😈

I just had mine looked at this week while it was at the dealership because of an airbag light on. My driver side works fine but the passenger takes twice as long to get warm. They said there wasn't anything electrically wrong with it.

Hey there,

I did get a chance to look into the owner's manual, and I do notice that it states that the passenger seat may take longer to heat up. The temperature performance of an unoccupied seat may be reduced, and this is stated as a normal feature. I hope this information brings some peace of mind to your concerns!

My seats start getting nice and warm just about the time I'm at my destination, and getting ready to get out of the vehicle.
The heated seats in my Equinox have three heat levels, and are quicker to warm up.
The Sonic seat heaters are either on or off, and take an excessive amount of time to get up to temp.

I can't speak for the passenger side but my driver's side gets so hot it makes me sweat and I've got to turn it off. No problems here.
