Hello all. My name is Art and I just welcomed home a new member to the family. A 2012 1.8 Crystal Red Tincoat Chevy Sonic LT with the convenience and wheel and fog packages. Sure, I would've loved the 1.4 turbo but in LA and traffic, auto is the way to go for me. I am happy to report that I love the car. Only 50 miles on it so far. The only thing bad to report is that one of the fog lights is out. I will check for loose connections, fuse, bulb but if all fails a warranty fix is in order.
The Sonic replaces my original commuter car, a 2004 Scion xA which was totaled on Dec. 3rd while I was having dinner at a holiday party. AN older guy plowed into it and pushed into an suv. Thank God no one was hurt. Fortunately he was insured and his insurance paid more than I imagined which made for a great down payment for a new ride. Although I had to come up with the balance I did not want another montly payment. I looked at all the hatchbacks available on the market and even some sedans. But ended with the Sonic for certain reasons. It's mostly American made, it fit me like a glove, the wheel telescopes, the seat is adjustable, the connectivity package, the looks and it doesn't look like a chick car. Nothing against you ladies on this forum
Anyway, I have enjoyed reading the posts on here and I look forward to seeing some of the aftermarket goodies.
Cheers,
Art aka sonik
