Help in selling car

I have been trying to sell my 2012 Sonic for some time now and don't seem to be having any luck. The car is priced far far below what local dealers are asking for other manual Sonics with more miles and and lacking the 1.4T which my car has. Other than Craigslist and flyers, what other avenues can I try? Is Carmax a scam? Thanks for any suggestions.

Do you have the title in hand or is there still a lien on it? Not having the title can scare off a majority of buyers. The dealer lots also have the benefit of captive financing. If someone is needing to finance the purchase they might find their own bank won't finance a person to person sale either.

Seems the last few cars I've sold myself ended up selling at $500 to $1000 more than high trade value. At that level I could usually unload them in a week or two (with clear title in hand).

Rockcrusher, I would also suggest a lot of detailed pictures inside and out. When people look at adds their minds are made up in five minutes looking at the pictures. Also, mods are great but if you have performance mods, it will limit your audience. Sadly, people see modded cars as race cars that have been driven hard and will scare them away. Thanks for the replies. Yes, I do have the title in hand. I'll put the original exhaust back on. When some of this snow melt I'll take alot more pics.
