Help! Wires accidentally pulled out of harness

Hey everyone,

So I was replacing my ignition coil pack (cylinder four disintegrated from corrosion) and in the process I accidentally pulled the wires out of the harness for what appears to be the be the thermostat. Can someone please tell me which side the red/black cable goes into the harness so I can solder it correctly the first time.

How many cavities the connector is, how many of them are used, drivers side I assume, color of the connector and color of the wires. I want to make sure I get the right info to you.

It's dark and rainy here right now so I can't get pics, but the connector is located right below the connector for the ignition coil pack. It goes into the drivers side of the cylinder head (to the left/under the charge pipe going to the throttle body) and it's a two wire harness. One wire is black, the other is red.

The only thing I see was a 2 wire connector that went into the plastic housing on the drivers side of the head, nothing directly into the head.

Those wires aren't red and black.

I saw nothing in technical documents that show red and black related to coolant.

If it's only 2 wires, trial and error! Sorry ... but that may be your best bet.

Sorry, I was a bit off with the colors -they're not exactly red/black. I pulled the wires last week and couldn't remember.

Please see photos below, the wire harness clip I need to re wire is the one right above the oil filter which isn't plugged in one of my photos below.

The one going into the plastic housing is the one I need!

Does the light wire go on the top or the bottom?

With the clip up looking into the connector side that plugs in the sensor ... the blakc/brown wire should go to the left. The green wire should go to the right.

That's assuming it is a temp sensor plug. Should have had a green clip on the end of it to help keep the terminals from falling out.

Do yourself a favor though ... get a replacement pigtail instead of trying to fix that one. Check around for an ACDelco part number PT2550.

Thanks for the help! My clip is in good shape, just need to solder the wires back in.
