Hi to all , I'm a new member. I made this account solely to get help with this, but I think this might be my new favorite forum.
I live in a big city , with biggggg traffic. I want to wire a switch so I can manually turn the rad fan on when it's hot out and I'm not moving ( can get up to 45°c in traffic where I am ). I got the idea after the many years working on semi's ( they have a manual rad fan switch).
I was wondering if any one of yall have done this to your sonics or if any of you had an idea the best way to wire it up .
I tested/sent power to the rad fan directly by tapping into the red wire at the connector fan side ( with harness connected), the fan will turn on but it trips the breaker in my powerprobe leading me to think the fact that the connectors at the fan are a weird 4 pin ( not like that in trucks ) making me think there's a high and low speed function . So I thought to tap in at the fuse box , I read the inside of my fuse box cover and saw 2 J-Type fuses and 2 mini relays,
J-TYPE:
-COOL FAN K5 (60A)
-COOL FAN K4 (40A)
MINI RELAYS:
-COOL FAN K1
-COOL FAN K2
not sure which is high and which is low tbh, can't find a wiring diagram for it.
Which one would I even tap into for the wiring of said "extra" switch ?
Any help would be appreciated
