Highest HP possible (ATM)?

So I know it's not be long since the Sonics been out but how much hp can the stock 1.4T and trans handle at the moment. Anyone know?

Nobody has done much more than a tune and an intake. Vince has proven that the engine can handle much more power via larger injectors and running (I think) E50. Nothing has been observed long term, so longevity of the engine after mods remains a mystery.

Yeah I wanted to do the Trifecta tune but I'm worried about reliability I don't want nothing to break and I be out of pocket on a new ride.

The engine and transmission are absolutely capable of handling a tune and intake. There are several members on here rocking one or both and nobody has reported any problems so far. But as with any mod, remember that if you do break something and the dealer can link it to the mod they will try to deny the warranty claim.

stock motor should handle some abuse , but im going to use my 1.4t as a boat ancher and put a 2.0 lnf in

I really believe that the Trifecta guys have made an honest effort to keep their tune below the point of failure. However, there is nothing like actual history for certainty.
My somewhat conservative approach is to go with a 60% tune now (60% of the performance of the normal tune). I'll hear about it on this forum if people start having failures.
After a year or so, I will change to full tune if no problems arise!
Note, BNR will update you with a full tune for free down the road.
