Well after a few days of researching, I finally found how I can build this thing.

Ok yes it's a little confusing what I wrote but building 1.8L engine will be a little easier than I thought.

The Holden Cruze (Aussie) is on the same engine platform as the sonic. Yes I do understand that the cruze is longer but a simple cut and wield and it's a done deal.

With the engine, it took me a quick second to figure this out.
Fiat and Deawoo(no mods) has been using the 1.8L ecotech engine for about 10 or so years now.So basically I could take parts like cams, springs and replace with no problem.


Basically, I am going to order from England, Germany,and other places to make this happen.

Although the Sonic and Cruze share engines, the chassis/floor pans are totally different. The Sonic is on the Global Gamma platform whereas the Cruze is Global Delta.

That X-Force exhaust will require a lot more than a simple cut and weld job to fit a Sonic.

As far as Cams and other engine internals, you are on the right track.

Cams and stronger engine internals being available could make doing a forced induction system that significantly improves power more feasible. I do believe in the adage there is no replacement for displacement, although some who read my posts may think I believe otherwise.

I look forward to reading what develops even though I am committed to the 1.4T as I will be getting an RS w/in the next six or seven months.
