How do I get my check engine code

How to get my check engine code? I thought there was something i needed to do with turning the key in the ignition? My check engine light came on, however my car is running fine.

The key trick it normally a dodge thing but I have not actually tried it with the sonic.

Stop by auto zone or advance auto and they should be able to plug in the scan tool and tell you

Yep, because a Japanese/German cars never have issues.
Every manufacture has issues.

Generally the sonic has stupid issues that go wrong witch in my book is no big deal.

But Just go out and buy a 10$ Obd blue tooth reader on Amazon and get the torque pro app for 5$

Yea it is really stupid we have some of the worse laws

Here in MI, they won't let you do it. They will come out with you and read the code, will not clear it, and will only give you a printout of the things... Dude.. I have done OBDII scanning so much I should have my own (Probably getting one).
