How hard to replace center console outlet?

Mine has become corroded....want to replace it but dont want to pay 85+ an hour...how hard is it to diy?

I honostly dont know how hard, but when you do replace it. Try to get an idea of how hard it would be to add another outlet.

OH please take pics, and give a good review. I have been wanting to add a second to my Sonic. just no real time to get into it yet.

85$ an hour to pop out the port? Ive had mine out a few times. Takes 2 seconds.

Yea its not a hard project at all. There are a few clips where the center console meets the radio stack, and then underneath the cup holder I think there is a bolt or two. Then remove your shifter trim and your center console with the cupholders shoud come up and out.
Then I believe the 12volt port just twists away and then the reverse for reinstall.

On the topic of adding another, I would run it on a separate circuit, you don't want to overheat anything and start a fire if you're ever running both ports at the same time.

You should blow the fuse first. It wont catch fire or anything.

Yea I'm sure I would run a second line in to the box, just to get whatever amps I need/want. However, you are right. It won't start a fire. It will blow the fuse first. I do have a double outlet adaptor. It works good, but a true (correctly installed) double outlet. Would be nice.
