How to get sun visors to slide?

Hello,
Actually I do have a question. The one notable imperfection in my sonic is the the sun visors don't extend. Out here in Washington the interstate is north-south, so when the sun is low (when there's sun) it blast right into my eyes.
I have to drive with a cap on to shield by eyes.
I just checked a Chevy Cruze, and those visors extend. Is there any simple fix for the Sonic, or are there other extending visors, say from a Cruze or some other Chevy product, that will just screw in?
