Hi everyone, I don't know if this is the right forum, but here I am. I was always convinced that my car would start having problems immediately when I paid it off. Sure enough, the last payment came about in late February and then I started having this humming noise when I accelerate. The pitch gets higher as I accelerate higher.
One background issue: in February of 2019 I went through the self-serve car wash (on a non-freezing day) and started hearing a noise and my heater went out. I can't remember what the noise was, but a bit later I went to get an oil change and they told me the coolant was low, so they got it fixed.
This February, I coincidentally got a car wash again and this new sound started. Thinking I knew the issue, I added coolant which looked like it had been a little low again, but it didn't really stop the noise. Gradually over the summer, the engine has also started sounding more rough/loud.
I have to take it in soon for an oil change, but I was hoping someone might have an idea so that I can brace myself for a cost. Thank you!
