Inferno Sonic in Michigan

Hello everyone,
My name is Josh im located in Flint and have been lounging around the site for a while now and thought it was about time to introduce myself. I have an Inferno Orange Sonic 1lt with the 1.4 turbo six speed manual. Had the sonic for about a month now and have about 1500 miles on her and I love it.This car is the first front wheel drive car I have owned and it is a lot of fun to drive as most of you know and I still average around 36 mpg. Only mods at the is the all weather floor mats and will be putting the mud flaps on once it warms up again for a good bath and I'm currently making some door sill plates for her as well.

Hey josh im from Holly Mi, not far from you. I have been thinking of getting some mud flaps to,got to love the dirt roads around here, are you thinking of getting the GM ones or something else?

Yeah I have friends from Holly so I've been there a few times, and yes love the dirt roads. I bought to oem ones got them off of ebay. I bought the front and back cause it was cheaper to buy both sets up front then to buy only the fronts now and then add the rears later.

Welcome to the forum, Josh. I'm out of Lansing, but the 'rents and in-laws(future) live in Ortonville, so I pass through Flint all the time. And I'm near Holly quite a bit for work. Do you think the mud flaps are worth it? I live about a mile off the pavement and so do my parents, but 95% of my driving is freeway.

To be honest I haven't installed them yet I need to wash my car before I do and I don't like the drive through places so I do it by hand but as you know its been too cold lately to do it. They have been sidelined till it warms up.

I think the fronts will help with the slash down the side of the sonic but the rears i don't know how much they will help.

I know other members have installed some already so they might better be able to answer your question.
