First ever INJEN intake being made from my LTZ, I had to guinea pig her, no car for a few days but it will be worth it!! There looking into a possible exhaust also, will get back with pictures!!

Just got my car back, love the new INJEN intake, car has nice grawl to it, pick up in power and gas milage when you keep your foot out! Will up load pictures soon.

INJEN intake, feel the power!!
Just installed the first INJEN intake on my Sonic takes to INJEN Technology, you want more power and better gas milage, this is the way to go!! Nice sound when you open it up, gas milage will go up if I stop playing with the new power, will upload pictures soon!!:banana:

I will be the first to go out on a limb and say that on the 1.8 engine, with or without a tune that the HP gain will be minimal and the MPG will remain largely unchanged. This intake, like most others, will be a noise maker and little else.
I will believe any claims after dyno sheets are posted. Until then, enjoy your noise maker.
Also, one thread on this topic is enough. I merged them both into the one in the 1.8 section, since this is specific to your 1.8.

Yeah, I agree with Sonic. Despite what the people who will sell the intake will tell you, you won't see much difference since your engine is not likely starved for air.
Still, you got a pretty sweet deal!
It might not show on the dynometer, but having a good sound is definitely worthwhile on the "human perception/fun meter", and, at the end of the day, that is what matters!

Partially true, but trivializing it as "a noise maker" is not at all realistic!
I'd take "the right sound" over 3 hp any day!
Just look at the classic Harley-Davison. They are actually a "not so good" motor design that will never run smooth, but there is something about the sound of the "random" intermittent loping of those problematically unbalanced engines that is just, plain BAD ASS. I would go so far as to argue that it was this sound that differentiated and made HD the uniquely successful motorcycle company it is.
I'm digressing but you get the point. I bet if you did an experiment using car enthusiasts (with no knowledge of what had been done to the cars) who drove Thrashinator's Sonic, then drove one that had an additional 3 hp with stock sound, they would overwhelmingly choose Thrashinator's as faster and more fun!

i just got the 1.8l sedan i lowered it blacked everything out and it looks really really nice now i jus want it to have a decent sound, has anyone experienced with straight piping? im pretty new to this so im looking for some feedback. i really like the way some WRX's sound with the low and beefy sound. is that at all possible to duplicate with the sonic?

how much did the w straight pipe run you? and would it fit on the sedan?

Straight pipe is cheap. Gotta just lop off the end muffler two 30degree elbows and a straight. Weld together or use C clamps. Would cost 30$ at most if you do it yourself. Gives it a "ricey" sound.
Go w the thrush/ magnaflow it will cost you more. Depending on the price of the muffler. But same deal. But just c clamp the new muffler up into place. This gives a deeper tone
