I haven't installed it, but it appears to be more for tuning of the power band, than for peak gains. Lengthening the intake runners is often done to increase low RPM torque. That's similar to what GM engineers did on the 1.4l LUV GM engine by adding the "tumblers" in the stock plastic intake manifold. It would be interesting to see the difference in power curves on a dyno between the stock setup, and the ported intake manifold with the spacer. Not likely to provide much in terms of peak gains, but it could extend the power curve over a wider RPM range.
