iphone interrupted by wifi???

I decided I was going to try taking advantage of the wifi that comes with the 3 months of Sirius. I logged into my account online to set up the login information and the next time I got in my car and plugged my iphone into the car via the USB connection in the upper glove box (wifi and Bluetooth were turned on on the phone) the speakers repeat a strange hushlike beeping sound every few seconds like the phone was trying to connect but couldn't. I can get rid of the sound by turning the wifi off on the phone. Any thoughts?
