Just bought my 2013 LTZ Sonic

Hey everyone.

My name is Corey, I live in Delaware, so if anyone lives near me wouldn't mind meeting up,

I'm a Volkswagen guy. I use to own a MKIV Jetta, 24v VR6, had it lowered on FK Streetlines, manga flow exhaust. Cold air intake. And had 18x8 wheels up front 19x10 rear.

Then, after that I owned a MKII Jetta 8v. Lowered again. Pacesetter exhaust, 17x7 motegi wheels.

Reason I bought the Sonic was because my MKII was old and tired and was constantly breaking down and leaving me stranded. So instead I decided to just put that money into a car payment. I had looked at other VWs but as soon as I say in the sonic and saw the 6 speed manual and the turbo badge, I decided if try it out.

And I love it. Car is so peppy it's fun to drive, so glad I picked it up. Came with stock black alloys as well which was cool.

Love the color and wheels. Welcome to forum. I was a VW/Audi guy too (had a B5 S4 before my Sonic).

Hopefully my build will inspire u. Look for the thread "so the time has come" - I built my sonic how I built my s4 too- slammed and some goodies

Black wheels are cheap looking. Unless matte IMO

Enkei rsf5 that's what I have and love it. There are some very nice forged wheels for the car but they are expensive. I would look at the bronze enkei wheels. Only thing I don't like about them is they have that universal bolt pattern and it makes the wheels look sorts cheap. Just look around

Btw I have CX racing coils and it's slammed really damn low and they were only 799 - no complaints thus far

Thanks for the info and yeah bronze would be nice with this blue. I honestly don't like black wheels either.
But I've got time to find a set since I'm waiting until after summer to start messing with the car.

Bronze is nice and all but you already paid an extra $725 for the black wheels. I think your car looks sharp. I hope you plan on a tune, can't wait to get mine done and see what all the fuss is about.

Any reason you chose the sedan over the hatchback. I'm shopping Sonics and am finding
more sedans..as least in my price range.. on the fence.

I'd bought mine a year ago and chose the sedan because the trunk is HUGE for such a compact car, keeping my clubs (and luggage and...) out-of-sight when I'm driving all over the state/country for my job.

I like the sporty look of the hatchback, but the trunk is what sold _me_ on a sedan. I rarely have passengers in the Sonic... I'll drive the 2013 Yukon Denali for *those* road trips. Ha.

LOVE the Sonic for my daily commute!!

Same as above, sedan had more trunk space. And I personally like the look of the hatch but that is me.

I love the look of the hatchback. And I'm loving my 5-door Sonic. However, I do miss the trunk space I had in my old Cobalt. I'll just have to adapt, because I am enjoying driving my new Sonic so much.
