Just installed my Sub/Amp... you should too!

I just wired up my old amp and sub out of a previous car to my stock stereo in my RS, and let me tell you... THIS WAS THE EASIEST INSTALL EVER.

I couldn't believe how simple it was, I recommend anyone who knows how to strip a wire to go out and put some bumps in your trunk.

Here are the instructions i followed,

The only think I would add to this is the fact that the firewall is way harder to get through than the directions say, but just take some time, and maybe an exacto-knife to cut your way through.

I just wanted to put my 2 cents out there to encourage anyone who was thinking about upgrading their stereo to do it!

lol i did as well. And another good place for the ground wire is underneath of the mat in the bottom of the trunk there is a bold on either side. run over it with a wire brush and your good to go

What brand did you use? I found some illuminated DUAL brand 12 inch subs that would look amazing, but for some reason the site I found them on said they won't fit? How is it not going to fit in the trunk? LMAO please help me -_-

What brand did you use? I found some illuminated DUAL brand 12 inch subs that would look amazing, but for some reason the site I found them on said they won't fit? How is it not going to fit in the trunk? LMAO please help me -_-

It says they won't because the Sonic/internet gods don't want you to taint your vehicle with anything Dual brand. Heed the warning, my friend.

I just spliced into the purple/yellow wire at the same wiring loom as you show for the speaker splices. It's the same current and shuts off when you turn off the car.
I can only assume it's the same wire as the power outlet you refer to in your install guide.

So much easier than messing around with the center console as well as the door frame trims.

I haven't had a thumping bass in my vehicles in 14 years, so after nearly a year with my Sonic RS, have decided to take my old truck boxes my friend and I made (8" MTX sub in each box) and build a new box for the rear of the sonic using an MTX RT250D Mono Block Class D 250-Watt amp (had a remote sub control that I'll put in the center console near the traction control button). Debating on making the box a split 8, or a single box with both 8" working tandem. Also looking to incorporate a quick disconnect so I can remove the AMP & box as a single unit when I need more storage space for a trip or something. My only dread is having to go to Michaels for the 10# of polyfill for the box!

The link want loading for me but I've been trying to get my system installed for a few days i got everything down except the antenna/remote wire i guess? I'm guessing it's to cut power to the amp when the cars not on?

The thing is... i got a thick gauge wire running from the remote port to my battery terminal which I'm sure is wrong... tried taking off the touchscreen to find an antenna slot but couldn't figure it out i have the thin antenna wire just have no clue where it goes
