Just Test Drove a 1.4T Hatchback

Just came home from the dealer and let me tell you some things:

This is SUCH a fun little car, I love so much about it!
First of all, it shifts a lot more solid than my mom's Cruze does and everything just feels more tight and exact about the way it handles. I was so impressed.
The dashboard is a wonderful thing!
And the A/C worked phenomenally, being 94 outside today.

Anyway, I left my info with the guy at the dealer and he is checking with my bank to see if I can get approved for a loan (I'm only 18). Hopefully everything goes well and in two weeks, I'll be back to buy one But anyway, I'm so impressed by my experience with this car!

thanks flyer! And for sure, I'll start a build thread from day one. I just need to take my time and figure out what I want to do to it. This forum has been super helpful in supplying ideas though

i got really lucky with my car, i went in looking at a used cobalt and my buddy who worked at the dealership told me about the sonic and it was love at first sight! i ended up with a payment about $15 less month on my new sonic vs. a used cobalt with 60k on odo.

I drove about 60 miles through the city a couple days ago, and the A/C was barely adequate.

Of course, it was 115 out!

Moving from Honda Fit, I've been really impressed with the AC on my car. I can make my car too cold.

.....I would imagine 115 degrees outside would be testing the capacity of many an AC. (I have an ultra-guage and my ambient temperature alarm (set to 115) has gone off many times this summer when I get in my car to go someplace. It stops after a few minutes of driving but yeah, 115... I would imagine it takes some doing to lower the temp by 45 -50 degrees in what's basically a solar greenhouse.

Here in El Paso, it's all about tint and solar shades. I bought some 9.95 ones at the PX that attach to my visors. Actually a great design, and great value. Set of two for 10 bucks. I actually bought one set initially for my mom's truck and just had to go back and get a set for me. Really helps the AC out by keeping the car cool.

LOL, I had to disable all alarms in my ultra gauge on the first day I got it. I am usually sitting at 118 to 124 ambient, and as high as 140 on intake if I sit for a long time. The constant beeping from the ultra gauge made me want to throw it out the window

Yah, I should probably buy a set of those. But, its not usually parked in the sun. Covered garage at work, and garaged at home
