Mass Airflow The Grams/Second Thread (1.4 and 1.8)

So between dangerfield, brasschucker, and I. We have been comparing the g/s between us and what mods we have done.

I'd like for people to post up year/car/trim 1.4/1.8 the mods they have and the grams per second (ma1 setting on ultragauge) they are seeing on the ultra guage, if your using a aero force yours will be in pounds per minute.

So use http://www.endmemo.com/sconvert/g_slb_min.php to convert it to grams per second please to make it more uniform for all. Also list what gauge you used.

Formulas to do it yourself
g/s= grams per second
lb/m= pounds per minute

g/s to lb/min: multiply by .1322
example: 128g/s x .1322 = 16.9216

lb/min to g/s: divide by .1322
Example: 16.92lb/m / .1322 = 127.98 = 128

128 g/s consistently 5/6 pulls in 4th 88 degrees ambient on ultra gauge ma1
132.8 g/s max 4th 62 degrees
Mods:
DDM intake, ZZP turbo back exhaust with secondary highflow cat and muffler, DDM hard charge and silicone charg,.ported intake manifold, forge bov. Trifecta Ecp tune. Bypass mod.

Just to let everyone know, these numbers are coming directly from Ultragage readout. The Ultragage has a delay, and these numbers aren't accurately indicative of actual airflow. We will have more accurate numbers when we dyno in October.

if your using a aero force yours will be in pounds instead of grams. So use google to convert it to grams please to make it more uniform for all.

Grams != g/s

At that point you need the frequency to calculate g/s which I don't know if any of these devices output. Morgan was able to see the MAF Hz but it was probably in HP Tuners.

Alright, that's different if it gives you the rate and you just need to convert. I'm not familiar with the Aero force and it's units and was just making sure nobody started comparing apples to oranges.

All good man. Ya aeroforce does have a raw setting too but also has a lbs most people wouldn't look at raw to my knowledge.

1.8 guys are welcome to post just specify your a 1.8 or maybe it would be better for everyone to post their engine displacement.

I originally wanted to post this in just the engine section but it wouldn't let me forced me to choose a displacement. I messages the mods to see if it could be moved to a more appropriate section for this to work.

Set my UG to read g/s this morning. Hit 170g/s with the A/c on during my drive home from work. 84ºF ~23psi

1.4 MT some mods and stuff.

I believe I've hit 180 before, but I'll keep an eye and see what I max at.

interesting but on stock tune i hit 111.2 g/s at 6500

That's weird brasschucker357 is getting that on stock tune.

I was getting 109 g/s completely stock. I'm now getting 122 g/s just a hair under 5500 @ 75-78*. My ONLY mods are a zzp resonator only catback, modified air box with smooth intake tubing, and the boost bypass valve delete. I am not tuned.

That's great that you can move so much air. I'd like to do some air box mods. See if I can raise the airflow rate. Any links to what you did

I didn't see mentioned in the thread but the Ultragauge manual says there is mass air flow 1 & 2, which one are you guys using?

Ma1 is g/s I think other is raw.
