Miles Per Tank - Maximizing your Range

Enough talk about MPG, lets talk about what kind of RANGE you are getting out of your 1.4 or 1.8.

This is on my 1.4. Zero bars on the gas gauge, DTE is LO. Still had the reserve, but didn't push it any furthur. 381.2.

Just for grins, my DTE gauge reads 440 with a full tank. How many miles can you get on a tank? Post your pictures!

I recently had a 381 mile tank driving from NC to PA. My DTE guage usually shows 410-420 on a full tank. I tried a few tanks of premium. It made little difference. I am trying a few tanks of ethanol free gas now. The results are promising so far.

Looking thru my fuelly list, I got 439 miles for a tank on my trip FL. Partly because I kept driving until I found a Mobil/Exxon, we have a credit card with them and get 15 cents off. I was getting nervous since the mile-to-empty was 'LO'. I was going to pull over at that next exit no matter what gas was there, luckily there was finally an Exxon

Normal commuting I have been refilling at ~360 miles...

My wife never lets her car get below 1/4 tank, LOL, I let it go down to one bar...I like to live dangerously

Hmmm, I wonder how they determine how big they should make the fuel tank. The Cruze has a larger tank, but Cruze Eco has a midget 12.6 gal tank. I've gone 440 miles once, with my range on this highway trip saying in the 500s. Though we have Eco owners over on Cruzetalk consistently getting 400+ mile tanks on 10-11 gallon fuel ups -_-

That was in San Fran / US-101 bumper to bumper rush hour. I've not been able to ever come close to that again out here in the cold midwest

A couple of tanks ago I went 366.8 miles on 10.54 gallons. That's 70% city and this was before I started shifting at 2K RPM.

I REALLY want to hit the road in this car to see just how far I can stretch a tank.

Longest so far, 428.6 on fumes. 11.34 gallons DIC=41.3mpg

Atlantic City, NJ to Trenton, NJ to Salem, NH avoiding NYC and toll roads on the outer highway loop(1&278), after midnight, 40F.

Being from Cali, Im not sure what Mobil super + gas is out there on the east coast. Best here is 91, or 92 if you can find it and want to pay out the @ss!

I keep forgetting to look, but I'm fairly certain it's 93.

Last weekend, it cost me $3.77/gal, on 2/1 it was $3.65. Yeah, Cali is a different story, I still remember the feeling crossing into Cali, and seeing $5 regular gas in Needles back in April. I think the cheapest I found was $4.01 in San Bernadino...

i recently got 377.8 miles on the tank i filled up 11.68 gallons of fuel, and the price was 3.69 and also i last filled up on feb 7th. so thats not to bad of a mileage if you think about it!!!! im stll in love with my car. just want more upgrades/performance parts thanks

i just did my first fill up yesterday with the new sonic i hit 420 miles before filling up 11.3 gallons so around 37 miles to the gallon for me :banana:


I put premium in it and it costed 4.80

My best was 495.7mi. On 10.14 gals of 87. That was %95 rural usually driving at 45mph in 6th. It was a VERY long tank lol. Average around 380-400 with the 1.4t MT

I am still on my 1st tank and it appears as though I am gonna end at around 330. I have the a/c on constantly and have STEPPED ON IT once or twice. I hope to get somewhere in the area of 375 on the next tank. Maybe the a/c and all city driving is causing the lower miles than the rest of you?
