My turbo (bone stock) idles like dump when it is first started up many mornings. I really don't care much for it, doesn't seem to be feeling like a new car should. Some mornings it's so rough I stare at the spot for the check engine light waiting for it to start flashing, indicating a misfire. Never does of course. Once warmed up the idle quality is generally quite good.
Perhaps since this seems common there is a valid reason the engineers made these things do this... Emissions probably.
