Hey guys! This is my first thread on the forum, I'm just showing you all my custom subwoofer install. I'm only 17 so I still have to obey my parents rules, and they didn't want anything that took up storage space. In my old car, I had a 15" Earthquake in the trunk that took up everything. I wanted to find a way to work around this, so I took it down to my local stereo shop. They do great work there, and I knew he could come up with something.
So what we decided to do was to use the spare tire well. We took out the spare tire and cut out the spare tire mounting bracket. He made a sealed enclose and fiberglassed the entirety of the well. I used an amp I already had, an RE Audio XTX-3000.1, and he installed a Sundown 12" SD-2 sub. That's Sundown's shallow mount sub and it was perfect. He then went above and beyond with the paint and the carbon fiber wrap cutout. It looks and sounds great. Best of all it takes up no storage space and makes my parents happy
The same stereo shop also installed my HIDs and tinted the windows 20%. Here's some pictures.
