MyLink issue

I've noticed a little glitch with MyLink radio sometimes. The only thing I ever use it for is listening to satellite radio. Usually I'll be listening to my station, turn off the radio, put the car in park, turn of the ignition, then exit the vehicle. When I return to the car, start the ignition, then turn on the radio, sometimes the radio resets to XM1 - Preview.

I haven't been able to determine when or why it does it. It seems completely random. It's not really a problem, as it's fairly easy to switch to a favorite station, but it is a little annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this glitch?

I might try not pushing the power button when exiting the vehicle to see if that solves it. Does anyone else always leave their radio on?

Yes, unfortunately a very common complaint that is brought up repeatedly but likely buried in that massive MyLink thread.

Mine has done this several times a week since new. Some state this condition has gone away with certain MyLink updates, others not so much... I haven't ever had them update mine.

So far I haven't really found any common cause for this. I haven't tried what you're suggesting and turning the radio off, however... Worth a shot.

Are you both still in your trial period?

This could be totally random, but mine did that almost every time before I actually subscribed. I only thought about it recently because it switched back once since I upgraded a couple months ago.

Also I've wondered if it happens when the receiver is in a state where it cannot read the satellite signal for a certain period of time. This winter if I pulled up close enough to my house, the station would fuzz and when I came out the next day.. Preview. This was the situation this last time. I parked under a metal carport and came out and.. Preeeeviewwww.

I never shut mine off.

I understand there is a newer version of the software that fixes this, along with an issue involving a non-existent backup camera. Check under the Smartphone Link section of your MyLink, if you have 2 apps you need an update, if you have 4 then you have the update.

I'm still in the trial period. Looks like I have the update as I have Stitcher, Pandora, some maps app, and something else I can't remember.

Hopefully it will go away once the trial is over.

I'm in the Trial period as well and hate to say, it is not supposed to go back to Ch.1 on XM unless the Trial is not activated properly. Have you done a radio refresh? I had to do this to get any more than Ch. 1 when I first got my car. After I did this everything worked perfectly and I haven't been to Ch. 1 since. If the refresh doesn't work the other option before going to the dealer for a reflash is to reset the radio to defaults if you haven't already tried that.

Maybe it was the refresh that XM sent when they re-upped me that fixed it then.

I won't be getting the my link updated until I can swap into a factory backup camera and get the software that goes with. Mine works fine.

Just sent a refresh to my radio. Hopefully that will fix some things.

I discovered a new issue today. I turned off my radio about two minutes before turning off my engine. When I got back in my car and started the engine, the radio automatically came on and was on the last station I was tuned in to.

MyLink is cool, but it's definitely got a few quirks.

You know your Mylink runs Windows CE as its OS? Your lucky the thing doesn't BSOD on you as you drive down the highway....

A channel reset on the Mylink is a minor inconvenience. Just deal.

Where did you see that it runs Windows CE? Everything I have read says it is powered by QNX.
