New future sonic owner in KY

Hey everyone! Hopefully getting my sonic tomorrow! I've still got to hammer some details out with my dealershipmbut I'm looking forward to learning about tuning my turbo charger to get a little extra oomph out of him and getting back to a manual transmission. i test drove a 5-sp yesterday and even that had good pickup and the clutch was super smooth compared to all my previous stick shifts. What's the first thing I should do when I get it (besides link it to my phone, so glad I get MY music and MY gps through the sound system without a cord and WITH IN-DASH CONTROL)?

Hey sorry for the delay, Tapatalk didn't tell me anyone responded! Louisville bro, and sadly I'm not getting her until Wednesday, I tried to pinpoint where one dealership was getting mine from and I guessed wrong, ended up staying at the second place and getting a slightly better deal, but had to wait three more days and drive an extra 50 miles to get it. Not the worst thing in the world as i get a day to take my mom out since I missed mothers day, but so mad I have to wait. I'm buying the turbo having never driven one (not sonic, no turbo ever) so I'm excited as F to finally take it off the lot. Thinking first order of business is intake, going to wait on a tune since I'm wrapping up costs for my honeymoon and I have no idea what I'm doing ha ha.

I definitely want to check that out thanks! I will look up the scca this weekend although I don't think I'll have time to go to many events. The driving school would be nice though.
I'm looking forward to getting my 10th post in, I think my first miss are going to be trying to add bright white lighting where I can (small neon lighting near pedals and under glove box and I would LOVE to change the color of the mylink lights but I don't think it's possible). I'd love to make a performance improvement first but the fiancé is making me wait until after our wedding

Hey quick question.. Should my turbo sonic have boost gauges? I have none.. Not sure if they just don't come with them stock or if it's because I have a sedan? I was browsing the 1.4t forum and it just now clicked that the might might have supposed to have come with the proper gauges lol. I don't want to spend the money to buy my own/have it installed in they're supposed to be standard

No,

Sonic hardly comes with any gauges at all. It's a economy car. The turbo option was intended for better economy, not performance. ( even though when modified it has great performance)


Buy a ultra gauge. It plugs Into the obd2 port

Okay good to know. Thank you. Ultra gauge, it is an app and the dongle, yes? I'm not sure if it's worth me having until I get a tune set up on it, and that's sadly a few months off.

similar man, I was hoping to try to change some of my interior lighting (the blue under my my link pad) to orange since most of the Normandy's instruments are orange but I'm thinking that would be a huge hassle. It looks like the material that let's light pass through is blue, as opposed to any kind of film I could somehow remove hope I'm wrong but don't know how to find out lol.

if they had a black one at my dealership it would have made my decision a little harder, but I'm definitely glad I went with blue!
