Hey everybody,

Just picked up a 2012 Sonic Hatchback LT with the 1.4L Turbo and 6-speed manual transmission. Looking into making some light modifications (CIA, Cat Back, Tune).... Possibly create my own cat-back and CIA if I get the time!

Anyway a little about me: I am a recently seperated Active Duty Navy Veteran of 10 years. Seen Hawaii and Washington State in my time. I have been married for 7+ years with a set of 2 year old twins (Boy & Girl)... Just bought our first house and now working a great job. We just traded my wife's 2007 H3 for a 2012 Cruze LT (Turbo w/ 6-sp Auto), I just happened to trade in my 2001 Tahoe LT yesterday (217,000mi on her and running strong).


Hope to see some faces within my area with some nice Sonics!

Get the Magnaflow, it is ready to go, no hack job... Designed for a direct fit. I cannot see spending $20,000 on a new car, and ******* up the exhaust to save a couple hundred.

I spent 16.5k on a new car and then spent 180 on a custom 2.5" exhaust just save to a couple hundred bucks. Sounds great too.

As much as I believe in my life saying "Doing it right the first time", I don't exactly have money to throw around with a new house and a set of 2 year old twins. After I saw someone on a forum (possibly this forum) use Flowmaster's U-Fit kit to make a 2.5" cat-back I was sold on the idea since the sonic's piping seems almost to easy to recreate with a couple 45 and 90 degree mandrel bends.

I already have a chop saw and welder to complete the installation. Just need to scrape together the $250 for Jeg's version of the U-Fit kit.

Greetings neighbor!

Do you have custom wheels? One of my co-workers said he saw a lowered Sonic with "rimz" at Heavenly in Plaistow earlier this month. I've yet to see anything other than stock.

I should have mine on in a few days, and it's constantly parked at Pepboys if you feel like dropping in. I'm Joe and I run the speed shop. We have a selection of ss mandrel bends now, I'm getting the itch to do something, but I don't have a welder.

I'll probably go ZZP with muffler delete, and add a resonator.
