New to modding!

I was told to avoid nodding my Sonic Lt hatchback into a "rice rocket". I'm not exactly sure what that means. If someone could tell me what it means and give me advice on why I should avoid it, it would much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Well, by rice rocket, whomever was probably referring to this meant as follows (in my opinion)

-Obnoxiously unaffective hugely oversized spoilers.
-neon underglow or strobing headlights/taillights.
-exhaust that is 5.5" too large of a diameter at the muffler allowing for you to sound like a bunch of hornets that got into a jar of steroids.
-ANY, AND ALL tribal decals/vinyls/stickers.
-Two 15" kickers that make your car rattle at every loose fitting and seam, no quality just pure bass.

- last but not least, no Volk Te-37's. For the love of God please no. Possibly the most bought rim ever fml

The TE-37's are nice looking wheels IMO. If you dig through Black Turbo LTZ's build, he had a pair of FAST Hayaku wheels similar to the TE-37 on coils, makes me wet.

A rice rocket is generally a FWD econobox car, which is modded with the intent of looking like a race car, but not being one. It's a broad definition and any car can fall into it.

Ricey mods generally include vinyl, car part manufacturer stickers, with obviously no such parts found on car (ex: toyo tires decal while the car is wearing 4 mismatched no-name tires).

In essence, they are race-inspired modifications: spoilers, painted calipers/caliper covers, body kits, fake hood scoops, huge loud exhausts, etc. Also lighting: HID drop-ins into halogen housings, blue-tinted headlights or blue-ish bulbs, altezza-like tail lights (clear tail lights), clear aftermarket corners and also cheap aftermarket projector headlights.

There are more, but you get the gist.

I agree they (te37's) are a stunning design but I have seen them in every color/coat/finish on everything in the last 2-3 years. Its like a good song. Sometimes too much of a good thing....

Thank you all for the info. I do want to avoid some of these things looking at with this knowledge cause all of that is unnecessary and sounds like it would look like crap!
