I put my new summer wheels and tires on my LT sedan the other day. I think it improves the looks of the car a lot. The handling on the highway is like night and day. With the stock 195/65r15 tires on it, the car used to dart around the road and was greatly effected by wind. The car handles much better now.
The only drawback so far is worse fuel economy. The new wheels and tires are a bit heavier than stock. I'm losing about 2 mpg with these new wheels and tires. Power/acceleration doesn't seem to be effected all that much.
I ended up going with a Moda 16x7.5 inch wheel(paid $325 + $60 shipping on tirerack.com for the wheels) and got some 215/55r16 Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring tires. These tires are smooth as glass and very quiet on the road. Of course going with cheaper wheels means they had to use more weights to balance them I paid about $110 per tire at a local shop.
Here are a few pics.
