Newbie with a 12' RS

Just got my first ever chevy (3rd car) yesterday...SONIC LS!

I'm not gonna lie, I saw the pics and thought to myself "it looks like another short and tall meh-mobile, like that suzuki "thing", but after seeing it in person, I was hooked; 2012, Sedan, bright orange, 1.8, auto trans. Basically brand new at about 8500 miles, paid around 13k out the door. Traded my 02' 1.8t jetta in because it was on its last legs and I thing I made a good choice with the Sonic :banana: Sure, I am gonna miss my veedub but it was old and dying and I didn't wanna put any more money into it to keep it going...

So any whom, I have some plans for it: mostly cosmetic, and probably a performance mod here or there down the road. First thing I'll be buying would be a good roof-rack for my bike since I don't want a repeat of the Jetta with my bikes scratching up the trunk. After the rack comes the fun and the questions...

Whats a good looking size rim for the Sonic? It came with the stock 15" alloys and they're just too damn small for my liking. I want something that fits nice inside the fender but isn't too crazy looking. Maybe 17s? How tight of a fit are 18s? Anyone here hav pics they could share of their sedans with 17s or 18s? I wanna see!!

Sweet...I've never purchased new rims before, just tires at the local shop. Anything I should know when I'm shopping? Do 18's fit spot on without having to modify anything? I'm on a kinda-tight budget, can't really get top of the line (nor do I need them, just doing commuting/easy driving).

unless you're getting something super wide, it'll fit fine. go to discount tire and shop there with the clerk. it'll show wheels that fit, tires to keep outer diameter close to stock, and when he/she quotes you a price, casually/kind of laugh and say that it's a lot of money and they'll usually give you a deal.

Thanks for the tips Probably going to be a while before I get new shoes anyway... Just gonna focus on some smaller mods here and there to make it stand out.
