Nitrous would be more for the 1.8L's....however its a 1.8L motor so it would probably just bring you not much past if the torque numbers of the turbo 1.4L....for long...the trade of would be when your not spraying your performance is actually worse than before because of the time and the slight bit of fuel added in addition to the wet shot (there's way's around that but for now its a con)
Nitrous is "torque in a bottle" as my one friend who sprayed everything once told me.
As far as the piston issue goes, having a motor go lean combined with a hot range spark plug will also do a number on pistons. Pre-ignition, etc ouch.
If pistons are the weak point thus far forged internals will be available in no time if the demand is there, especially with the push GM put on at SEMA with these cars "show parts" slowly followed by "go-fast parts".
Since I have a case of insomnia tonight, here's a little nitrous write-up that popped into my head.
High Compression Naturally Aspirated motors are easier, more favorable to nitrous, will show the most gains. Beside the HP/TQ it helps cool the intake air which means more HP in and of itself.
Was a mixed bag of popularity with the 3800 Supercharged cars since not long after upping the boost injectors were next anyway, and if you used a wet system the injectors were a moot point. Nitrous was going to be the next step that I never took for my Grand Prix, just add some 107 octane from Sunoco on spray days and enjoy. Window Switch and WOT switch are key to safety too.
75HP shot on a V8 isn't really much to bat an eye at...I'm totally new to the "small" engine game but I'd assume it be around a 25 shot?
I'm just guessing a wet shot fogger system would probably be a bad idea on the turbo motors right? Big risk of nitrous back fire with the intake temps so high, high octane fuel could combat that I suppose. I don't really remember to many street driven cars that had a turbo and spray from where I'm from, was mostly Supercharger or Turbo or Nitrous.
So yeah more hassle than its worth on most turbo setups. Meth injection was popular but other than it being called meth injection I have little to know knowledge on it, and that's the point at which people are already running boost controllers.
ahh spray:
Just because I'm not going to mod my sonic doesn't mean I can't fill the heads of those that will with ideas.
