No internal hatch release on '13? No way to turn off map lights when door opens?

Sorry for this again, I did look for answers here and couldnt find em. Certainly im not the first to ask this.
1) is there no way to turn off the map lights when the door opens or to keep them from coming on in the first place?
2) is there no way to open to hatch from the inside?

If the answers are no? and I had known that before I bought this? I probly would have kept on looking. Still like my new little car, but stuff like this is enough to make me never buy another Chevy. This is my first. TY for advice all.

Don't know about the hatch release, I have a sedan. As for the front map lights I took off the cover and with my long fingers I was able to fiddle around and disconnect the connector plug. I was then able to pull the connector out enough to use my electrical tester and find out which wire has power when the doors are opened and which one always has power. I then used a small pin and removed the wire that is controlled by the door out of the connector and then tape it real good to the rest of the wires covering the prong. Reconnect it and put everything together and Bam, lights only when you push the buttons, not when the doors are open. Took me 15-20 min on my 2nd sonic and the other two sonics I did for co-workers.
