OBD Bluetooth Adapter recommendation

Planning to use either the Torque or ScanTouch software to monitor my Chevy Sonic. Amazon has a plethora of cheap looking OBD plug in adapters.

Does anyone have a recommendation or have used any of the cheap solutions (less than $20) that actually work?

What's the difference between a < $20 adapter and the $70 adapter?

I'm looking for people that are actively using any of these, which are you specifically using? working well? not working well?

I run the Scantool MX - yes, its more expensive, but I found that the less expensive versions caused errors on my Ford. I like that it can also be used from a Windows machine for more usability. I use Torque as my app, BTW, and it was one on their recommended list.

I just moved it out of my truck into the Sonic today. Since the Sonic is missing important information like boost, oil pressure, coolant temp, etc, I really want to have it on my dash. In my Ford I had seperate pages I could slide between that would show basics, but also more advanced stuff like EGT, TPMS, DEF level, etc - all good stuff when towing heavy loads... I can't wait to see what I can put together for the Sonic

I do plan to use this in both my Sonic and my wife's Ford Freestyle. Good to know it works in Fords too. Let me know if it works well in the Sonic. Thanks.

I have the MX to and the big difference I saw from the MX to the cheaper one is the data speed, a noticeable difference. ..
