Planning to use either the Torque or ScanTouch software to monitor my Chevy Sonic. Amazon has a plethora of cheap looking OBD plug in adapters.

Does anyone have a recommendation or have used any of the cheap solutions (less than $20) that actually work?
ScanTouch has a more expensive adapter that includes the software. https://www.obdsoftware.net/scantools/obdlinklx
What's the difference between a < $20 adapter and the $70 adapter?
I'm looking for people that are actively using any of these, which are you specifically using? working well? not working well?
