Oil Leak

I went through the posts here but didn't see anything that seem to fit my situation, so . . .

2012 Sonic with 1.4l turbo and 6speed stick. 95,000 miles. No check engine light, no codes, no abnormal behavior noted.

Noticed a small (pencil head eraser sized) drop of oil on the floor. Looking underneath, it appears the flange where the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe meet is wet. This is on the driver's side of the engine. Checked the oil and level is good and consistent with where it was at the last change.

Checked the filter, the turbo oil line and whatever I could reach with the heat shield on and everything is dry. Any suggestions?

Check your oil cooler(the silver ribbed housing that the filter screws in to). Mine just started leaking at 75k miles and dripped down where the engine and trans meet and made me think I had a worse problem than I actually did. $30 for 2 seals and should fix it. I JUST changed the oil so I'm waiting until I have to change it again to pull the cooler off so I don't waste an oil change [emoji23]

Christian and Turtle -- thanks for the feedback.

The turbo oil line is good. I felt all around the oil cooler (at least where I could fit my hands) and looked every where from the top and can't even find a damp spot, let alone a wet spot.

I don't have a lift, so I am having my shop take a look this afternoon. Are there any seats other the pan around the left side that could be a problem?

Yeah I believe that's it. Just turbo seal and oil cooler seals. Rear main seal but I don't think it's that since you seem to think it's coming from the manifold area. And then oil pan gasket/seal (not sure what this has since I haven't taken it off)

Turns out the cooler is cracked. Valve cover is leaking as well. Crap!
