So I'm heading tomorrow to look at a new 2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo Hatch and I'm curious how great is this car what do you guys like the most about it. What is the aftermarket like and what is it capable of performance wise.

Cause I have a buddy who just bought a 2011 Genisis Coupe 2.0T and I wanna be able to run him over in the 1/4 lol so let me kno your thoughts

If you get a tune you might be able to beat him, but if he gets a tune you'll never catch him

Get the sonic tuned like the Trifecta and push 170HP. Then the sonic should be keeping up if not beating the Gen.

Well Matt that is a loaded question .I love the car but I'm so bias it is not funny . Tuns of room super fun to drive suprizingly zippy . Great styling . And a low price to boot boot .

The after market is just starting to pick up now there are some tuners out there wheel are coming around I think right now there are 2 suspension systems out right now and more are in the testing . Cold air in take are being developed some hit some misses Injen I think has a ready to go version right now .

If you want gas mileage the 1.4 manual is the king of the hill for Sonic .the LTZ is top of the line right now the RS is coming this summer I have herd .

As stated I 'am in love with this car I have 10,000 miles on my car and have owned it since late Sept early Oct . There are bugs that have been addressed by Chevy on this web site . It is made in the USA . The price is right . You will find it hard to find a better more fun car with all that room at this price any ware .

Wow great reply. I know all in all when I sit down in that driver seat and take off for the first time I'll either love it or hate it. Ive had 11 cars since I was 16 I'm now about to be 21. And I'll tell you out of my list of cars the funest to drive was my 95 Miata 5speed. So if I get that fun factor and know I can tune it up I'll be happy as can be.

It's fun to drive, but coming out of an SVT Focus, it doesn't handle as well and it's not as fast. It has potential, but will a 1.4 liter, it's never going to be a 1/4 mile beast. I do, however, think it's going to make a great Auto-X/Road Course car with a few mods. You do an exhaust, tune, intake, coil-overs, and some sticky tires and this will be a great DD and a weekend track warrior. I can't wait until someone comes out with a rear disc upgrade.

I had an 05 Dodge Stratus. I hated that car and I to have a Ford Maverick project car. Mines a 71 Grabber with the 200 inline 6. I got my Sonic LT 1.4T about 3 weeks ago and already put over a thousand miles on it. Its just to hard to get out of the drivers seat. Just to fun to drive.
