P1682 code

Has anyone else had a starting problem with their sonic? My car had been sitting for 4 days and when I tried starting it this morning all it would do was crank over, took over an hour to start. At first when it started, I was acting like it was starving for fuel, and wouldn't stay running on its own. Now it starts and runs fine but my CEL is on and the code was p1682, it's something with the ignition, it also threw a code for cylinder 3 misfire.

Possible causes

- Faulty ignition switch
- Ignition Switch harness is open or shorted
- Ignition Switch circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Try disconnecting the positive battery terminal for 5 minutes then see if that kicks the code out.

I had a low tire warning... but nothing was low... the battery trick did it for me...

Bad fuel.... Maybe? If it had enough water in the fuel, it could have separated in four days.

When you say it wouldn't start ... Did you have fuel pressure? Was the starter turning over the flywheel? Was there spark?

Also, I would not try to start a car for an hour. Most cars manuals say to stop trying after 15 mins. You will burn up the starter and potentially the ignition module.
