Paddle Shifters

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone's looked at installing some paddle shift controls?

It's not unheard of this segment, and the manual mode already has buttons for shift control.
I'm surprised that the RS at least won't have it.

It shouldn't be a big deal to run an extension line from the shifter's connector to the steering column, but I haven't looked at anyone of this so I can't assume.

I'd much rather have manual control of the transmission and think paddles are easier and more satisfying.

If you wanted manual control of the transmission maybe an auto wasn't the right choice for you. If they make universal kits for the paddles you shouldn't have to much trouble working it in to the car. That and TCM tuning should make it feel like a manual without a clutch peddle.

^ When I hit stop-and-go traffic through my 80 mile round trip commute, I don't want a manual.

When I want to have control over MPG and enjoy my driving experience I want manual control.

Why do you think they invented manually controllable automatic transmissions?

That's like saying "You can wither get high HP out of a motor or fuel economy, not both, now choose!"
Of course we know that to be false, it just requires the effort to design the machine to be able to do both and implementing it.

The Automatic transmission shifts so sluggish and erratic it will take a lot of reprogramming to get it to work well enough to adopted a padel shifting system to a Sonic .

My a/t shifts significantly better after i got my tranny fluid swapped.
